Continuation...

And so it went until the neighbors gathered at Alexa's house at supper time to taste her new creations. All of this went unnoticed by Alexa's father for years, as he worked until nine or later each evening. All of the neighbors had cleared out by the time he got home. It's not that Alexa hid her talent or nightly dinner parties from her father on purpose, he just never asked and it seemed to slip Alexa's mind every time her father walked in the door. She cooked breakfast for him each morning and kindly gave him a lunch to take with him to the hardware store, but he didn't seem to want to hear about it when Alexa discovered a great new recipe for mango salsa soup or........

ABC

The letters that I chose were A, B, and C. The girl in my story is going to be named Alexa, she is going to live in Billings, Montana, and she is going to be a Cook. She is 15 years old, and the restaurant that she is a cook for is an all you can eat buffet. You might find it odd that a 15 year old girl is a cook for a fancy buffet, but there is a story behind it.
When Alexa was a little girl, just barely 5 years old, her mother died and her father was always at work. Alexa's father couldn't afford to send her to school, so she stayed home all day. She had to eat. She began with the easy things. Toast, or canned soup heated up in the microwave. She got tired of Cambell's chicken noodle soup, so she tried something new. She made Macaroni and Cheese from a box, she cut up vegetables and steamed them on the stove. When she turned six, she experimented with spices and flavors to make the perfect spaghetti sauce. The noodles were easy to boil and rinse. And so it went until the neighbors gathered at Alexa's house at supper time to taste her new creation. To be continued...

Ultimate Winter Break

My ulmtimate winter break would have a lot of things packed into it. First of all, I would make it longer. Maybe a month instead of 2 weeks. The first thing that I would do would be to go ice skating. The day that I got out of school, the very minute that school got out, I would go ice skating. After that, I would go home and sleep all night, and sleep in as late as I could. After that, I would pack up and fly to mexico, where my grandparents are living. I would go to the beach and go swimming and all that fun stuff. After being there for about a week, I would fly to Texas, where one of my best friends lives. After all that hot weather, I would go home and play outside in the snow all day then come inside and drink hot chocolate to my heart's content while I watched TV or read a really super good book. I think I would prefer the book. For the rest of vacation, I would just relax at home, maybe go shopping a little bit. That would be the ultimate winter break.

One time I was putting a book that I had borrowed back onto my sister's bookshelf in her room, and she walked in while I was doing it. She thought that I had been taking a book, and she got mad at me, telling me to give it back. I told her that I didn't take anything, and tried to walk out of the room. She blocked the door, and I started playing along, pretending to hide a book behind my back. She got mad at me for something that I didn't do, but I was provoking her and hiding the fact that I hadn't done it, so it led to a fight.
If I would have just told her that I hadn't taken anything and shown her my empty hands, she would have let me out of her room and we wouldn't have fought. But, I chose to be secretive and sneaky, and pretend to be taking a book. My behavior made her behavior change, and we got in a fight over nothing.

My Worst Halloween Costume

The lamest Halloween costume that I've ever had was last year, in seventh grade. I was to shy to be anything big and fancy, so I just taped Smarties all over my pants, and went as a "Smartie Pants". The dumb thing is that I still wore dress code, so it was pretty much just like I didn't dress up at all.
The best costume that I have ever had would probably have to be in fifth grade, when I was Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz". I had a big blue and white checkered dress that was really puffy, and I did my hair in braids and curled the ends. I even took a little basket with one of my little sister's stuffed dogs to be Todo. I didn't have ruby red slippers though, because when I tried them on before school, they turned my socks red.

I have never read any of the books on the top ten booklist, but I know what a few of them are about. The one called Graceling sounds like it would be a really fun one to read, I know that it is about a girl who has a gift to kill things with her bare hands, so an evil king has her work for him and hurt people who don't obey the laws. I really want to read this one now, and I think that I know why it is on the top ten booklist for this year. It sounds really interesting and exciting. I know that later in the book, the evil king sends her to kill the king of another kingdom. She doesn't want to, so she goes to the Kingdom and tells the good king of the evil king's plans. She helps hide the good king away so that the evil king won't find him. I want to go check this book out at the Library as soon as I get the chance. ( The reason that I didn't do a review of the book is because I couldn't figure out where to find them.)

I have never read any stories by Edgar Allan Poe before, and I don't really like to read horror stories very regularly, although around Halloween I like to. From a classic horror writer I would expect lots of death and for them to be really descriptive about certain scenes that are more likely to scare people. Horror stories make my skin crawl, and If I am reading them at night, I can't fall asleep very easily. From what you said, we will be reading "The Tell-Tale Heart" and I don't really know what that's going to be about. It sort of sounds like it's going to be about a heart that tells stories or something like that. I don't know, though. I have read a few sort of scary stories, Harry Potter, for example. It isn't horribly scary, but it describes the scary parts really well, and it makes you stretch your imagination to imagine some scary things. I am excited to read the book by Edgar Allan Poe.
